CONTACT US ABOUT US OFFERS About Spittal Bathrooms and Kitchens: November 1890 saw William Spittal return to Fife from Oxford to begin a business in Markinch, trading as William Spittal: Plumber and Gasfitter, working from premises at 75 High Street. His son, John, having served his time as a plumber, set sail for America, but after the onset of World War I he returned home to join the forces. In June, 1919, John became a partner and began trading as William Spittal & Son. November, 1920, saw a move to new premises at 15 High Street, where the business of plumbing and ironmongery continued until August 1980, when the firm relocated to custom built premises at Queensway Industrial Estate, Glenrothes. During the intervening years, the grandson of the founder, Roy, joined as a partner in 1957, followed by his sons, Jon & Jamie in July 1974. 120 years on, the company has expanded to provide a superb range of 70 bathroom and kitchen displays from the affordable to truly luxurious, with advice and service only a century of experience can give.
